Guests at Macaroni’s Resort have access to surf more than a half dozen other waves; Macaronis (Maca’s) and Macas Right are a five-minute speedboat ride from the resort, Silabu Left is 10 minutes away, Bowls Right is 15 minutes away and Greenbush and Bat Cave are a 40 minute speedboat ride away.

Macas left is a wave with a long barrel directly after take-off, followed by a wall that lets you carve and hack to your hearts content! It is a remarkably consistent surf spot on either large or small swells, on all tides and most wind conditions. Macaroni’s is accessed by a five-minute speedboat ride from Macaroni’s Resort, while Maca’s Right is even closer. A small armada of boats ranging from a five-meter dinghy to a 22ft alloy speedboat for surf transfers is available for guests to surf Macaronis Left, Macaronis Right, Silabu Left, Green Bush, the Thunders region, and Bat Cave. The boats can also be used for short range fishing and snorkelling excursions.

Depending on the season, waves vary in size from 2 to 10 foot with the average wave height being about 4-5 ft. (head ½ high or 8ft faces) they can range anywhere from fun sized walls to awesome stand-up barrels.

The wet season starts in mid-October and lasts until late March-April, with the swells dropping to a more comfortable fun size coupled with some of the most uncrowded line-ups.  Winds during this time are variable and glassy. Check for the low season specials during this period.

April is the beginning of dry season, which coincides with the start of the swell season. The Southern hemisphere swells start pulsing up the Indian Ocean with peak swell season being June through to September. This period also sees the winds turn to a favourable easterly direction.

Air and water temperatures range between 27-30 degrees C all year round.

The guest suites (serviced daily) are immaculately presented and are raised up from ground level with exceptional amenities and incredible 360° views of the lagoon and ocean. Each of the 16 air conditioned rooms can accommodate two guests and has its own bathroom with a hot shower, flat screen television, DVD player, and a large veranda just outside the rooms, with spectacular views and breezes. There is a lagoon style swimming pool with gardens surrounding the pool offering a tranquil place to relax and have few beers poolside with your friends. Wi-Fi is also available.

The bar and restaurant on the first floor of the main building stocks a range of acohol and fruit juices / smoothies are also available.

A super large plasma screen TV in the bar and restaurant provides guests the opportunity to watch international sports and news as well as showing a live surf cam of Macaroni’s plus a variety of DVD movies and music. Other activities included a game area with a pool table and ping pong.
