The ultimate in Maldivian surf charters! If you're serious about surfing in the Maldives then the outer atolls are hard to beat. With some of the most untouched and uncrowded parts of the Indian Ocean, this area is stunning!

Upon arrival into Male you're then transferred to a smaller inter-atoll domestic flight, down to Huvadhoo Atoll in the southern region. For the next 10 nights you'll be in surf heaven catching and eating your own fish, snorkelling the pristine reefs and of course getting uncrowded mind blowing barrels! There is a max board length restriction of 8'6" for these inter atoll flights, which means if you're travelling with longboards exceeding this length, then the charter will need to start from Male. For charters originating in Male its recommended (due to the travel time) that a few extra days are needed to cover all of the surf breaks.

The breaks in the southern atolls work on a wider range of swell and wind conditions than those of the Inner Atolls so an experienced Outer Atoll guide is essential. We were the first company to operate Outer Atolls surf tours in the region and our well trained Surf Guides have a vast knowledge of the surf breaks and conditions.

There are about a dozen breaks in the region, including Beacons (right), Castaways (right), Five Islands (right), Love Charms (left), Tigers (left), Bluebowls (right) and Two Ways (left & right).

Built in 2002 and recently refurbished, Horizon II is an 80ft vessel with six comfortable air-conditioned cabins all have fan and en-suite bathroom. Facilities include a fully stocked bar/saloon area with TV, DVD and Hi-Fi entertainment system. She is crewed with some of the most experienced locals who know their stuff. She takes no more than 10 surfers-keeping the crowd factor down.

Horizon II has a dinghy, and is also accompanied by a support dhoni - a traditional Maldivian boat ideally suited to shallow lagoons. The dhoni improves access to waves and anchorages and allows the group to split between breaks. And the main boat can be in a safe anchorage while the support dhoni allows extra dawn and evening surf sessions.

If you're after a surf trip of a life-time then the outer atolls are unbeatable! In the Outer Atolls you can snorkel on unspoilt reefs, catch a fish for dinner and see parts of the country that most tourists never experience. And you can surf some of the best waves of your life!

PRICES ARE IN NZ$. Please note most of these prices are ex Auckland and subject to currency fluctuations, flight availability and dates of travel. High season surcharges may apply.
